Gotham followed up its ” Harvey Dent” episode appropriately with an episode entitled “LoveCraft”. The continual nod to writer HP Lovecraft whom is forever cemented into the world of Batman for creating Gotham’s beloved Arkham Asylum. For which the city would be completely lost to the madness of some of its residents about ready to lose their minds as the week-to-week series continues to move forward without a caped crusader of any kind.

Gordon (Ben Mckenzie) finds himself looking for Dick LoveCraft (Al Sapienza) once more, as he is believed to have hired the assassins that attacked Wayne Manor looking for Selina Kyle (Carmen Bicondova). Selina the only one who as Alfred (Sean Pertwee) notes “Supposedly” saw the face of the real Wayne murderer. An event Bullock (Donal Logue) wishes he could forget having “Closed” the case and pinning the charges on the late Mario Pepper (Daniel Stewart Sherman). The attack finds young Bruce (David Mazous) and his feline friend on the run and looking for safety deep within bowels of Gotham, while Alfred and Bullock search for them.

Don Carmine Falcone (John Doman) interrogates Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) about his exploding vault of cash and whom he thinks may be behind it. Cobblepot suggests a mole, but is reluctant to give up his new pet Liza (Mackenzie Phillips) as he plans for her. Falcone is unimpressed when he reveals Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith) is the one behind the scam and Falcone tells him to bring him proof of such betrayal. However, this isn’t the end of it as Falcone raises taxes and makes his top Lieutenants pay the price.

Bruce and Selina build their friendship as she tries to be nice to him and teach him a few things about living on the streets. She shows respect for him as he hops a building chasing her. They even rum into ivy pepper (Clare Foley) trying to sell some items for some quick cash to a fence named Clyde (Devin Harjes). Although the exchange between Bruce and Ivy is nothing less than strange, Selina tells him its okay and she’s a whackjob anyways.

If anything stood out in “LoveCraft” it’s that Alfred can handle himself well in any scuffle or gunfight. As he and Bullock came to Bruce’s rescue when the assassins led by Larissa Diaz (Lesley-Ann Brandt) find the two leaving the homeless slum they were hiding out in. Bruce also got that kiss Selina had been teasing him about for a couple weeks. And it saw Gordon booted from the GCPD as he not only failed to capture the assassins, but for telling Mayor Aubrey James (Richard Kind) to kiss his ass when he came up empty handed after searching the city for Selina.

Many good things will ensue when Gotham returns in January as Gordon will be assigned to protecting the inmates at Arkham Asylum and we will finally meet Dr Leslie Thompkins played by FireFly and Homeland star Morena Baccarin. Not to mention what will become of Gordon’s love life as Barbara either comes to tearms with what she has done to Jim and whether or not she can continue to trust him.
