Penguin’s Umbrella” saw Barbara stare death in the face as Victor Zsasz (Anthony Carrigan) held her hostage in Carmine Falcone’s (John Doman) vast estate, while Liza (Makenzie Leigh) made raspberry cookies. Gordon (Ben McKenzie) got a fright as Barbara pulled his spare gun on him, when coming home from a long day at The GCPD. Reminding him what a fragile kitten she truly is.

Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) tasks Liza with copying the last two pages in Falcone’s Ledger. Something Mooney has groomed her for while having her fight for the position in which she killed another applicant. Liza then seduced Flacone with her aptitude as a young beautiful unknown singer. Setting the stage for a worthwhile confrontation between boss and overzealous employee as Falcone has known for some time, Fish’s plans to overthrow him and become his replacement.

Alfred (Sean Pertwee) has Bruce (David Mazous) return to school, but upon arrival the young heir immediately attracts attention of the schoolyard bullies. Dealing with it at first by smacking him, which usually proves useless, but Alfred doesn’t let go to far before he hands his fathers watch to him and has him whale on the kid to teach him a “lesson”. This results in Bruce desiring to learn how to really fight instead of a dirty back alley approach to it all.

Bullock (Donal Logue) and Gordon (Ben McKenzie) find themselves investigating an underground fight club where applicants applying to a firm fight to the death. The man in charge wears a unique mask, but never reveals his identity that is until Bullock finds a lead that leads him and Gordon to a man named Richard Sionis. Sionis gives himself away, but Gordon and Bullock have nothing. Gordon does find himself to be the center of attention yet again as Sionis Captures him and forces him to fight against several applicants at once.

Meanwhile Bullock takes a stand against the dislike of Gordon’s recent actions involving Cobblepot and Falcone at GCPD. Because he too, finds himself not getting the necessary help needed to solve the weekly high profile cases. Sarah Essen (Zabryna Guevara) realizes how wrong of her it was as a LT to not have helped Gordon in his time of need and makes herself a role model.

Upon arriving back at the GCPD Gordon finds himself once again dealing with Selina Kyle (Carmen BiconDova) whom was apprehended for shoplifting. Its obvious she wants something from, but we’ll find out next week as The Mask put Gotham back to Business-as-Usual. With no real mention of what Richard Sionis would really create in the Bat-verse later on.
