Tension escalated on Last nights Agents of Shield as Kyle MacLachlan’s “Doctor” wouldn’t allow Raina (Ruth Negga) to hand the obelisk over to Daniel Whitehall (Reed Diamond). Instead he suggested she fetch his daughter Skye (Chloe Bennet) and bring her to him, Something Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) would never allow under any circumstances. Raina was no doubt between a rock and a hard place as last week Whitehall had attached some sort of device to her wrist that would kill in 48 hours had he not received the obelisk.

Jemma Simmon’s (Elizabeth Henstridge) cover at the Hydra lab was blown as a picture of her sending info to S.H.I.E.L.D. about their pans hit every computer in the building. However, our favorite British scientist was not alone, as Bobbi Morse (Adriane Palicki) also known in the Marvel universe as “MockingBird” had her back. Morse was also undercover and trying to learn about Hydra’s experiential projects within the organization. Something that was never accomplished, but the mission was a complete failure as Morse snagged Simmons’s hard drive before it was time to fly the coop.

Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) decided it was best to stop keeping things from Skye as the events on their mission heavily deal with her lineage. Coulson also divulged that she might not be human as the GH-325 had a negative effect on both himself and the treacherous John Garrett played last season by the great Bill Paxton. Coulson noted how she hasn’t felt any negative effects of the miracle drug and how he can’t stop drawing the mysterious alien scripture. Skye after getting what she wanted from Coulson said it might be a map, which begs the question for what? To what? And why is it so important?

Upon returning to the Playground Bobbi Morse revealed that she knew everyone currently on Coulson’s rag tag team of heroes. Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) was entirely caught off guard, as she happens to be one of his famous ex-wives. Morse even supposedly vouched for his actions as “good guy”. However, the reunion between Leo Fitz (Ian DeCaestecker) and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) was clearly the reason to watch. Fitz was speechless as she walked into the lab and asked “how are you” knowing just how bad Fitz feels about their relationship at the moment. Not to mention how she probably lied to make her going undercover easier for Fitz.

Adrianne Palicki is a great new addition to the SHIELD team when it matters most. As she will have recurring appearances throughout the remaining seventeen episodes and there has been mention of her possibly showing up elsewhere in Marvel Cinematic universe as DareDevil drops in May. Who knows where she’ll appear next it’s a big cinematic universe after all. Agents of SHIELD seemed to be more on track this week as things are finally beginning to really happen. Skye’s father isn’t quite daddy material and Fitz and Simmons have reunited once again, lets hope they don’t split up again any time soon, Fitz pain was enough to last a couple seasons.
